River Rafting in Pahalgam
The Lidder comes down cold and fast out of the mountains above Pahalgam, and rafting it is the best way to spend an hour in the Kashmir summer. The standard stretch is lively without being intimidating — grade I to II for most of the season, with sections that pick up after snowmelt — so it works for first-timers and families as well as people who have rafted before. Every raft goes out with a trained river guide.

Good to Know
- The season runs roughly from April to September. Water levels are highest after the snowmelt in late spring.
- You do not need to be able to swim, but you must wear the life jacket and helmet throughout.
- You will get wet. Bring a change of clothes and a dry bag or leave valuables with our staff.
- Rafting may be paused when water levels or weather make it unsafe. We will reschedule rather than run a risky trip.
- Talk to us first if anyone in the group is pregnant, has a heart condition or a back or shoulder injury.
